Nostapyrax - the names of things.

So, I'm on with this in earnest now and although still a long way off eventually I'll be getting round to needing to name things..
Streets, boulevards, market squares, shops, points of interest, etc... and whilst many of them have been decided during the long development of this city setting, many have not.

So I thought why not ask you - our OT friends and supporters to offer up some suggestions! :)

You can offer as much or as little as you want, anything from just a street name to a shop, its proprietor and details of its day to day.

We make no promises to use it, none of the extra description is likely to be canon, and there wont be anywhere to credit your input  (except here on this thread)

...but as a bit of fun that will help me out with the sometimes difficult job of making up loads of names then why not! 8-)

All of a sudden all those books on naming Non Player Characters and stuff seem to have an important market. Do you have any such? They would prove useful here. Some backstories like the ramblings of Volothamp Geddarm and Elminster of Forgotten Realms lore could be interesting too.

Then there are all those alley rats and outcasts that befriended our Tovarish too.

"Slaver alley" would be an interesting one - the Charter of NP forbids the 'ownership' of sapient & reasoning entities of any sort (including Daemons).
So maybe this could either be a name grown from the prevalence of poorly paying workhouses and sweat shops, or maybe a street of bankers and money brokers? :D

Or poorly paid foreign "worker"

Or a holdover form a previous time when it was not forbidden.

Depending on your level of grittiness & reality the modus of following historic examples is always fun, naming the street for it's usage

Who can forget the infamous alley in London formerly known as "Grope Cunt Lane" because, well, that's what happened there

A place in Barnlsey IIRC called "Piss Ditch" too

Is there an NP word for the little interconnecting Canards? Like a ginnel or snicket might describe a short cut between buildings?

So some less than salubrious parts if the Haak

Nychtfalichta (sp) Corner
Silver Skirt Alley
Doxies Way
(I'll stop now)

Bladder Alley
Offal Row
Tanners Lane

For named places I might suggest tying some PC threads together and naming an old bordello on Fireside "Meri's Mansion" or "Nemeria's House of Dromish Delights"
